"For a moment, [Ann Romney] also separated women voters from the men in their lives, and conferred on us status and perspective and even sanctity that, at the end of that day, was a deep and guilty pleasure."
“She is like the Nancy Reagan of the 21st century,” said Melissa Gay, a delegate from Tennessee.
Gay was originally a Rick Santorum supporter, but she voted unanimously with the rest of the state’s delegates to nominate Romney tonight. Gay said she relates to Ann Romney because she also chose to be a stay-at-home mom. “She’s made motherhood honorable again. Still, in the 21st century, people look down on people who want to stay home and raise their children. And it’s the greatest job on the planet.”

Mitt Romney has declined to say much about his vice presidential search, but the Republican nominee’s wife offered a new clue: he’s considering a woman.
“We’ve been looking at that,” Ann Romney told CBS News, when asked if her husband should pick a female as his No. 2. “I’d love that option as well. So, you know, there’s a lot of people that Mitt is considering right now.”
